Early Flight Exhibition Package

The Smithsonian exhibition catalog was designed to capture the spirit of early aviation while giving off the experience of a museum exhibition into a printed format. The project began with extensive research into the history of flight and the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum's exhibitions, informing a visual direction that reflected both innovation and discovery. The catalog's layout was intentionally structured around full-spread aircraft imagery, allowing each airplane to be showcased as if it were on display within the exhibition itself. Bold, industrial-inspired typography was chosen to echo the confidence and engineering of early flight, creating a strong visual rhythm throughout the book while reinforcing the era's pioneering spirit. Together the imagery, typography, and composition create an engaging publication that celebrates aviation history through thoughtful editorial design.

The Donors card was also designed as a supporting piece for the exhibition, carrying the same visual language and attention to detail as the catalog.
